During some searches for APPs today I have seen a few twitter feeds showing up in Google searches. I don't mean TWEETS either, I mean the feeds and they are updating live at the top of organic searches. I haven't seen this before and I am not sure what the search query needs to have in order to result in a twitter feed being displayed.

This search is showing a twitter feed for me >
David Bowie twitter but not mariah carey twitter for example. I couldn't get my own twitter to show either. I am thinking that maybe it is just too new and more and more will show.

Twitter search feed in organic results.

Here is an example I was able to produce doing a search for (1) david bowie twitter. The first information displayed in the search is what seems to be a recent Twitter search for David Bowie. (2) It also has a scroll bar embedded and they update live as you are reading the page. The organic results show just underneath (4) the twitter feed.

Similar search query, different result.

I also did a similar search using Mariah Carey's name instead. This search did not produce the same results even though she would likely have more Twitter activity at any given time.

It's hard to tell of the Twitter feeds are mysteriously showing up for one reason or another (as per Google style), or is this just being implemented in such a way that results may be inconsistent for now.

Here is a Twitter feed I found for search on an APP called bird brain. I tested the live feed by making a post on my own twitter feed to see if it would show in Google search. It did, almost immediately, then I got a response to my Tweet and my twitter ID shows again. Now if Twitter feeds are going to be in widespread Google organic results, it wouldn't it be great to get your Twitter ID in those front page results consistently?

I am going to be monitoring this search development and trying to work it into my Twitter marketing. If you have anything to add to this, please send me your comments using my contact page on this website.
