Tweeting for Traffic can be done in many effective ways. In this strategy I bring TWEEPS to a blog post by posting a request for opinions. (Psssst > People love giving opinions!) I posted a controversial poker hand on this page using screensteps which allows me place images in the article for a much improved read.
![]() I post the hand and copy the URL to my specific blog page. remember, you want a sign up or all to action on the page somewhere. Writing the Tweet.![]() I make sure to include some keywords (1) in the Tweet so Tweeps who do not yet follow me can find this using Twitter or Google search as well. I use ask readers to Tweet me back (2) their opinion which will further spread my Twitter user profile. I also use Digg (3) for this one, hoping it may get dug by others using that social bookmarking site. ![]() Currently there is virtually nobody on my website. It's a slow time of day for poker players, so that's to be expected. Post tweet, wait.![]() The tweet gets posted, and I wait a few minutes. ![]() You will get some immediate traffic within just a couple minutes. As you can see, in the AM of EST I was able to bring 33 more visitors to website who are probably ACTUALLY reading the content and finding it interesting. ![]() Within half an hour or so, the traffic subsides. Rehash the tweet by adding TY for commenting.![]() When the traffic subsides, or even later, like the next day or so. Send out a TY tweet mentioning those who commented while being sure to post the original link again. Other Tweeps may just want to know what that conversation was all about and you will drive some traffic to that page again. Not only that, you give some Twitter air time to some of your active followers, which is always appreciated. ![]() You might not get the same response as the original, like here, but you can practice this with your followers as to what time of day is best to do your tweets and how you word them. Keep in mind also, if you use specific keywords in such a Tweet, you could be getting the odd visitor to this page for the next week or so, so be sure to incorporate strategic keywords into your Tweets. |
