If you were affected by the Westhost server crash in February/2010 that saw some sites offline for nearly a week, then there are some things you should probably do to make sure Google knows you are still in business. After all, if your blog or website normally has crawls from search engines, and then all of a sudden the spiders can't get to your site for a week - well then some of those programs may have written you and your business right off of the internet.

CNET and Molly Wood attacks the iPad PDF Print E-mail

Yeah she actually says only New York liberals are going to buy this thing, trying to pretend she's as controversial as Ann Coulter. But never mind her, because real business people know what the score is, and the AMAZON team is more than a little concerned about this iPad thing selling quite a bit more. Why else would they have just announced that Kindle publishers' commissions have increased from 30% to 70%?

Somehow after being on Twitter for nearly a year now, I only recently discovered TwitterCounter.com. I'm not sure how long this has been around but it is more the more professional looking, organized twitter app websites I have ever seen. Needless to say things like that impressed me, so I decided a close look.

There Is Nothing Wrong With Making Money PDF Print E-mail

For some reason, no one in Social Media is really allowed to make any money. It's verboten. It's against the community spirit. It's the wrong thing to do.

That's just, plain stupid. Yes, the new digital channels are primed for those who are looking to connect, communicate and engage in conversations, but if there is no benefit in the end, then all is lost. For some, that end benefit will be dollars in the bank, for others it will be social capital (check out Tara Hunt's amazing book, The Whuffie Factor, for more on that), for some it will be the growth of their personal brand (which in turn will help them create ventures in other channels for monetary gain), and others do it simply as a way to stay connected and learn from more people.

Breaking Bad breaks the mold of network television. PDF Print E-mail

Breaking Bad is launching it's third season soon and to find top quality television like this outside of HBO and Showcase is rather rare. But to me AMC is a business more like HBO or ShowTime, except that they don't run 100% their own productions. In fact, if you surf through AMC's lineup its filled with old westerns and classics. On the other hand, with 2 industry leading and critically acclaimed series in Breaking Bad and Mad Men AMC can run crap all day interjected with a few of these home-spun productions and make some serious money.

I think a lot of people are having difficulty placing this product and it's uses in their line-up properly. I have been delaying getting a mac-book because I wanted to see how the iPad would work for the limited duties I wanted the lap-top for.
